NOMADS

The Nomads are a folk / bluegrass style world music group from Shanghai, with members from China and the United States. The band draws mainly from Chinese and American folk traditions, performing songs in Chinese and English.

Nomads is: Jerry Liu (banjo), Kirk Kenney (fiddle / guitar / banjo), Paul Meredith (guitar / mandolin) and David Dai (double bass), and also features exotic Chinese sounds and instruments such as sanxian and sheng. Often Nomads is joined by guest star mandolin virtuoso Tom Peng, who is also a noted throat singer. Nomads have performed widely in China and have also performed in the American Midwest. The band is planning a return tour to the Midwest in the near future.
